Why commission art?
An original oil painting is a unique way to tell a story and celebrate those we love. That look in someone's eye, a particular collection of family mementos or a favorite place — your commission will honor and preserve what is important to you for generations. Much of Western art history's greatest hits were private commissions created as gifts, public art, or expressions of love. No matter the subject, art is and has always been our way of cultivating what makes us human.
How do commissions work?
You have an idea and Flott translates it into a lasting memento. The subject matter can be a still life, a single portrait, a group or family portrait, or landscape. It might be your beloved pet, family home, or a simple arrangement of meaningful objects. Either way, she will translate your vision — the subject, the mood, the story — into color, a unique composition, and custom size that will fit your home. The results will last lifetimes — plural!
Working from observation is the best way to truly capture a subject but photos may be better suited to other projects. Flott prefers to take her own photo references when applicable but is open to using your references on a case by case basis. Contact the artist with your idea — make a lasting memory today.
